Take a peek into the world of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and into the Universe. Learn about the history of and future plans for the observatory, including the Giant Magellan Telescope, and cutting edge scientific research. Also get an introduction to the WorldWide Telescope program—a free, virtual tool to explore the Universe from your home. The evening will include a viewing of the Great Refractor telescope, installed in 1847, and, weather permitting, time on the roof to observe Venus and Jupiter. A light reception will follow the program.
