2012 WWT Workshop at CfA, reprise

By popular demand, we are offering a repeat of the March 16th workshop.

The morning session of this workshop is for any member of the CfA community interested in using WorldWide Telescope in teaching and outreach, especially for creating interactive "Guided Tours" that showcase their research.

Those who would like to actively participate in WWT Ambassador activities this spring should attend both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Please RSVP hereby Wed. 3/28, noon. If you would like to volunteer this spring but cannot make this workshop date, please contact Pat to make alternate plans for training.

Session Details:

WWT Overview 
We'll present the main features of WWT that Ambassadors should be aware of when using WWT in courses, giving demos at schools, community events like star parties, and other public presentations.

Introductory Tour-Making Tutorial 
We'll practice tour-making basics, including:

  • How to manipulate slides
  • How to insert images, text, and shapes
  • How to animate images, text, and shapes
  • How to include narration and music
  • Things to consider when telling your story

Classroom Ambassador Training 
We'll review spring assignments and responsibilities, common misconceptions to help students avoid, and give guidelines and advice on working in the classroom.  We invite returning Ambassadors to participate in this discussion.
