Phillips Auditorium | Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
On March 26, Ambassadors give a demo of WWT, its tours, and the WWT Moon lab, to Science Education Department at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
On April 9, WWTA shares results from ~500 middle school students in Cambridge and Lexington who used the Moon lab. WWTA specifically shares model-order differences for using WWT before or after using the styrofoam ball+lamp model, and whether students with high or low prior knowledge responded differently to the lab activities.
We'll be offering a workshop titled "Explore the Universe with WorldWide Telescope" and hosting an interactive booth in the GIG STEM Expo. This is a day-long program hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts that exposes 4th to 8th grade girls to hands-on interactive workshops, career panel discussions, and demonstrations from all areas of STEM.
WorldWide Telescope Ambassadors will attend the Annual meeting for the Astronomy Society of the Pacific. This year the conference focus is "Celebrating Science: Putting Education Best Practices to Work"
